Abstract

The toxic action of Dieldrin (25 p.p.m.) in diets on rats fed synthetic (nutritionally adequate) and poor rice diets has been investigated. Chronic toxicity due to Dieldrin is manifested more in rats receiving poor rice diets than in rats fed on synthetic diet. Toxicity due to Dieldrin is manifested by lower rate of growth, deposition of insecticide in the liver and body in larger amounts, and fatty infiltration in the liver of rats receiving poor rice diets.
