Abstract
Vitamin B12 is one of the important dietary
essentials necessary for the maintenance of normal
health and growth in human beings. It occurs
only in foods of animal origin. Though considerable
amount of work (z, 3) has been carried
out in U.S.A. and other countries on the vitamin
B12 content of foods, no information is available
on the distribution of this vitamin in different
animal foods consumed in this country. The
present note deals with the vitamin B12 content
of some common animal foods.
