Abstract
To overcome malnutrition in developing countries, a programme of research and development to speed up economic progress (particularly in India) is outlined. Topics discussed include: priorities for research (improved agricultural production, prevention of food losses in the field, during storage and during processing of rice, oilseeds, legumes and peanuts); better utilization of animal protein; economy of operation and efficient management; and training of personnel.
