Abstract

This Dissertation / Report is the outcome of investigation carried out by the creator(s) / author(s) at the department/division of Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysore mentioned below in this page.

Item Type: Student Project Report
Additional Information:
The widespread occurrence of mycotoxins in foods and feeds pose a serious threat to humans and animals. Mycotoxins may be Aspergillus toxins like, ochratoxins, aflatoxins, citrinin or could be Fusarium toxins like fumonisins and T – 2 toxin. The most toxic of these mycotoxins are the aflatoxins. The main aim of the present investigation is optimization of Dot ELISA by signal amplification for aflatoxin B1 detection in food samples. The study includes preparation of aflatoxin B1 – BSA conjugate, immunization of poultry to raise antibodies against aflatoxin B1, harvesting of antibodies in eggs and its titre determination, optimization of conditions for Dot-ELISA and Signal Amplification in Dot –ELISA for specific detectionof aflatoxin B1.
