Protein requirements for the maintenance of bodyweight in the young and adult rats were, respectively, for egg protein 2.2 and 2.3%, for sesame protein 4.5 and 4.6% and for soya bean protein 3.3 and 3.7%. Net dietary protein calculated from net protein utilization values was 2.2 and 2.3, 2.7 and 2.8, and 2.4 and 2.8%.
