Additional Information: Njavara as a medicinal rice is known since ancient times and it is being exclusively used for ayurvedic treatment and also cure common ailments.However, no scientific data are available to understand the components or bioactive molecules responsible for medicinal properties of Njavara The present study aims to assess the nutritional composition and antioxidant activity of medicinal rice njavara in comparison with non medicinal rice- Jyoti (Red rice) of Kerala and IR- 64 of Karnataka.
